— Singapore Weather

Singapore weather is generally hot and humid

Singapore is just two degrees north of the equator and it has a tropical climate. Its weather is characterized by little variation in temperature throughout the year. Average temperature ranges from 26 degree C ( 79 F ) to 30 degree C ( 86 F ) during the day , with slightly cooler temperature at night. Hot days can mean reaching a temperature as high as 35 degree C.

It becomes almost necessary to dress lightly to withstand the high level of heat and humidity in Singapore. Although there is hardly any change to the high temperature throughout the year, the hotter months turns out to be more unbearable than the wet and comparatively cooler months , even though there is no distinct seasons in Singapore.

Singapore is a perfect place for those who enjoy sunbathing , swimming and other outdoor sports like sailing. Golfers need to gear themselves with plenty of water during their game.

The mean relative humidity is 84%. Rain falls throughout the year , and it is usually intermittent and the showers are usually heavy. November to January are the wettest months due to the North East Monsoon season. Singapore has an average rainfall of around 2,370 mm. There are frequent thunderstorms and showers between monsoons. There are some instances of 24-hour rainfall recorded in the past years.

One of the key environment concern is the haze caused by the illegal burning of the forest in Indonesia. It remains a threat to Singapore every year between June and September when the South West Monsoon blows across from Indonesia.

With the global warming getting more serious , will the Singapore weather become unbearable ?
